Are VIP 3 400 presets available as download for Edit softwar
As in the title, can I download the 400 presets that the vypyr vip3 has and put the file in the vypyr edit software so the vip2 can access them. If so, where can I get the file?

No, but someone did put together a pdf with the names and settings of the default presets. You can use it to dial them in yourself. It's in this post:

Re: Are VIP 3 400 presets available as download for Edit sof
There is only 76 default presets. The remaining 324 of the 400 just repeat the same 76 over and over until all 400 are filled. In the pdf that alienux mentioned I noticed 4 presets are missing. they are (AIN'T TALKING bank 01 preset 3---SINGLE NOTE MOG bank 03 preset 3---WASTLAND bank 09 preset 4---FUNK IT UP bank 10 preset 4). I do not know the parameters for these presets, If someone else knows maybe they can post them.

Re: Are VIP 3 400 presets available as download for Edit sof
What I did was come up with a fairly time consuming work around. I have (still unprogrammed) fcb 1010 midi pedal that in default mode(reset the pedal to factory) and found I could bring up the presets ( not in any meaning full order) by selectiing a pedal number, You can see all the lights changing and a new tone.( think there are only 2 banks of bass and of acoustic and the rest repeat as previously mentioned)
Now running the edit program , the name of the preset brought up does not appear, but if you then manually advance the presets ( for example I connect the midi pedal, press 1st button, I get one of the presets that the vip2 won't see, so if red on bank one, I press bank one on the amp and the next preset(orange) comes on, that preset name will show up in the edit program name-then all need do is save the preset( want to change name, or tweak and change name, make sure you do it in the edit main window (upper right corner) before you pull down the save as . hit the bank button again (yellow) and the next preset comes on ( with its name) and so on. work back to the original red preset(same bank) and now its name will appear, ( you can tell it's the same tone)
With some way to call up the presets via midi( even though I have not gotten the hang of programming the pedal to call up what I'm wanting) you can get all of the available presets there are.( I set up banks 1 and 2 as my clean/distort/ electric tones, then sometimes bank c as acoustic and d as bass, depending what I plan on doing.Don't accidently save a preset you tweaked at your gig( ie push and hold preset button till flashin) it will replace what you have of course, but you will have to reload it back to your bank, save, then use the bank load to amp, unless you just want to of course:)
The whole concept is to get the peavey presets into the computer, so you can go thru and do what you want. I kept and tweeked about 30 of the peaveys, and have them set as banks, cause I just don't need to have a virtual whale song or 7 string preset- They all can be brought back anytime with amp reset(where you loose anything you may have adjusted- and by the way, make sure you toggle the start up so banks 3 and 4 are not dedicated to acoustic and bass
Now I verified this with the list that was mentioned, and the presets are grouped in banks, Most often the banks are the same as the vip 3- first sound, maybe # 16. 2nd (orange) is #17 and so on.
Some times( and I hsve no clue why, I hit a pedal number on the midi pedal( like bank 2 pedal 1) and I will have the loaded sound( that I hear) be preset green or yellow on a different bank than bank A, but the pattern stays the same,I am trying to back engineer the midi pedal to see what is being sent and even though some of the presets come with the wa working(using the pedal) it changes to auto when the pedal is disconnected.
After you save these presets, you are free to load them anyway you wish (bank abcd, 4 presets per bank, then save thebank- then reload(write bank to amp). there is how to access all the presets peavey has given us, only lthe vip 3 with pedal can access them live I believe, the 2 is limited to the 16 you choose, unless you have your computer running the edit program..
You could I guess use the save bank function, but you may not beable to tell which presets are in the bank( save bank and the entire list , banks a-b-c-d then what ever number they start with, and so far I have found that other than acoustic and bass banks, the sounds are really not consistant to know what you are getting,( ie killer clean and crunch with the last 2 presets being whale songs and some other weird tone ( why don't these people send out usable presets and leave the ones that demostrate the amps tonal vairety on some other form( like the user exchange or for that thought, put the damn banks in the user exchange and let us download them with the need for complicated workarounds!
Hook up is simple, midi out of pedal( can't vouch for other brands) into midi in on back of amp, usb hook up to front of amp into computer,( tricky is which to fireup first, amp or edit program.Set the in and out to the vypyr settings.

That seems to be true, I assume that's so you can write your own presets and store them in the other 324 spaces.wmjones wrote:There is only 76 default presets. The remaining 324 of the 400 just repeat the same 76 over and over until all 400 are filled. I

Alienux - thx for pointing people to my spreadsheet.
Wmjones - not to be testy or defensive.
but those patches, at least patches by those names, are on the spreadsheet. It seems that the patches may be assigned to different locations on the vip 3 than they are on the VIP 2 (which is what I used to put the list together). If you're feeling ambitious maybe you could revise a copy of the spreadsheet to reflect the VIP 3?

Re: Are VIP 3 400 presets available as download for Edit sof
theOldMan - What I said was there are only 76 default presets. If you look at your own spreadsheet you will see only 76 presets. Numbered from 2 to 77. Going through your first spreadsheet I found presets 9-16 repeated over and over though out the spreadsheet and the rest of the presets repeated between the groups of 9-16. I also have a Vip 2.TheOldMan wrote:Alienux - thx for pointing people to my spreadsheet.

wmjones - My bad for not acknowledging your correct statement about 76 default presets!
