Replacement woofer for SP 6G enclosure?

Is there a replacement woofer for the SP 6G enclosure? We've got one with a melted voice coil that sounds like a kazoo at low frequencies.

The owner's manual says it used: SH 12862 12" Sheffield woofer

I cannot find this woofer model on the Internet.

This enclosure is being used in a school gym, so possible re-blowing is certainly possible. I would prefer something with an easily replaceable voice coil to reduce future repair costs.

There are two of these enclosures in the gym. I expect I'd have to replace the woofer in the non-blown one so they both sound the same with a different model of woofer.


I realize matching the existing high frequency driver may be a problem with a replacement woofer, but I don't think we have the money for all-new Peavey speakers.

You'll want to call Peavey customer service for a true suggestion, but looking at the specs for the SP6 and the cabinet size, I would think the closest you'll get is maybe this one:

It's not a field replaceable basket, but it's also not all that expensive.
