If I end up deciding to upgrade from the Patriot to a "full-size" guitar I'm seriously looking at the Firenza. Aside from the T series, I can't think of any other hardtail guitars with two humbuckers that Peavey has made. Well, unless you count the Odyssey, Wolfgang, and the HP which I can't afford. :P

It is equiped with the Ghost saddles and a neck piezo for the acoustic sounds along with the P90s. Great combination.
Dude, that is way cool. 8)

Promise me you will never sell that to anyone other than a loyal Peavey forum member with at least 525 posts! :P

If I have any guitars you want let me know and I'll put you in my will... And please do the same for me with that ACM Firenza!

Seriously, where did you get her? Did you find her on eBay or did your local music store have it in stock? Or did you come into it some other way?

I know there are a lot of people out there who like Firenzas, but they don't always post here at the Peavey forum. Hopefully this thread will generate search engine traffic and more Firenza owners will check in over time.
My post was a bit of tongue and cheak. I could go on about how Peavey made a very few number of these special Firenza ACM models. And how seriously rare this is. But to be truthful it was a standard Firenza when I bought.

I found it on eBay from a guy in Colorado. He, also, has a Firenza AX which he was selling later but I didn't buy.

I bought it with the expressed intention of adding the Piezo bridge and replacing the pickups. I explain the custom shop (that would be my custom shop here in my basement) modifications in this thread:

http://forums.peavey.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=13097

I am not happy with the Graphtech preamp sound compared to my Generation Custom ACM. It doesn't have the body that the Peavey ACM does. I added a Dean Markley piezo under the neck since my previous post which did help some. I am currently looking for a Generation ACM to buy and remove the ACM preamp to put in this guitar to make it truely the Firenza ACM I said it was.

Again a special thanks to eMerlin for supplying the matching knob.

Oh, I do know how rare this model is...one of a kind like it in the world! :D

studiodtk5 wrote:I know this is a bit of topic, but still relavent to the Firenza. I know it was not marked Made in USA, but the argument for why is weak when you compare to other Peavey products.

For example I was just cleaning the jacks & pots in an old Peavey AOD pedal. It was made in the late 80s. The pots & the ICs were marked JAPAN. I am sure that is true for most of the electronics that Peavey has made; amps, mixers, effects processors, etc. All of those products that were assembled in the USA factories were marked Handcrafted in USA.

So why not the Firenza? Because the pickups and hardware came from Japan? That doesn't seam like a good reason. But I guess it is all we have.
No argument from me. I don't know why or why it wasn't labelled made in USA. I think it was probably just another one of Peavey's famous marketing glitches.

I think the most likely explanation is that, just as the Leakesville factory was getting up a full head of steam in 1998, Uncle HP's heart was elsewhere...

I believe that the Limited Series, also made at Leakesville, was also unlabelled as to country of origin.
my liminted hb does not say made in usa anywhere im glad to know its not juist mine :) the firenzas are nice looking guitars

E-merlin, I noticed that the 4 neck screws on your red firenza were round heads that stuck out of the holes. All of my Peavey necks have black allen head screws that are counter sunk in the holes. Did you change the screws?

All of my Firenza's have the Phillips "round head screws that stick out of the holes". My Generations and Falcons are also Phillips head screws, but the heads aren't as round they are on the Leakesville Firenzas.

Wally, Which Peavey guitars do you own that have the Allen head neck screws? Can you post some pics?

I own a bunch of Peavey guitars, but I can't remember any of them having Allen head screws. Maybe I just never noticed it before? Hmm... :?:

Nope. It's stock except for the pickup covers, switch tip, and knobs.

Phillips heads here as well on all of my Peaveys. I actually can not think of one guitar I own with a bolt on neck that has anything but philips head screws.

There are more than three Firenza fans here for sure I have had a few of them the Firenza and A Trans Purple Firenza AX My favorite is the Firenza ( P90's) I had the Cherry and a Metallic Black one that had a different font style "2nd" That when I checked many years ago it never was shipped to a dealer and it was an employee that added that. I found no problems on it at all. After all Peavey has not sold seconds ever. A few may remamber that I told of watching employees taking a ban saw and cutting a few guitars, instead of selling them as 2nds.

One of each. From left to right: JX, Soapbar, AX. Tried to get a nice
"red white and blue" shot, but the flash on my camera's not cooperating.

Good thing I'm not getting graded on this... lol  :P

The AX originally came with Zebra Humbucker pickups. The black pickups
you see in on the AX in these pics originally came from a Rotor EXP Limited.
The Rotor pickups are 4-wire, so they worked as drop-in replacements on the
5-way super switch. They are surprisingly good pickups, and I like the black
on blue look.

I like that blue one. I am not sure why, but that is a color guitar I don't have. Kinda odd since blue is my favorite color.

I missed out on a P90 Firenza. Been wanting to experiment with P90's.
Was this a deal? Sold already.

Ah, another Alabamian. $175 is a great price, probably why it sold so fast.
