Can't load prer-recorded file into ACT

Hi Guys:
I just downloaded ACT and I'm trying to load a pre-recorded wav file. When I click on the record button I get the message "The target sample rate is unknown so the sequence can't start". Obviously, I'm dong something wrong. Can some point me in the right direction?
