ACT Amp Profiler
Well, might as well start the actual thread for this before it comes out. I have been toying with another amp sim which is not a standalone that also profiles amps in a fashion. While I haven't actually done it, I have the demo and won't get the license as I am waiting patiently for this one, I do like the ability to name my amp give it different grille clothes and amp coverings, an idea that should be copied by Revalver 4. I am a big fan of the ACT guitar profiler, giving me the ability to use different guitars on my front end, also the tuner can offer different tunings, great idea folks. The amps are outstanding, cabs and IRs also. The ACT profiler at the output is also impressive, everything has to be adjusted for personal taste of course, I run thru a PA at home, quite different sounds than those from a headphone or recording monitors. The amp profiling will give this a complete palette of selections. Similar to putting AXE, with Kemper, with Amplitube, only MUCH more affordable, with such great sounds. I have no doubt that the amp profiler will do what I want, and I will be using it a lot. But I do like the ability to type in a name for an amp, grille cloth type and amp covering, this would be the icing on the cake.

Re: ACT Amp Profiler
The amp that has been called ACT Profiler in media will not be able to change the GFX in any way. I should say, in the initial version. We know people want this and it would be cool. But not in the first version.

Re: ACT Amp Profiler
Yes, I agree this is a desirable feature....BUT....I've A/B'd the BIAS profiler against ACT and yes, it was fun to make a pretty GUI to go with the BIAS profile of my '56 Vibrolux. However, the ACT profile of that amp,(even in beta!), sounded way better. And honestly Cliff, isn't tone the most important factor? But I'll have too admit those old radio cabinets of yours are mighty purty.....LOL!!

Re: ACT Amp Profiler
Assuming you are talking about Bias, clifton. I think that the amp matching in Revalver is much better. I was pretty skeptical at first, since i'm not the biggest fan of the ACT input thingy, but i'm pretty blown away by it. It's really good.
The first version of it was pretty polished, so i doubt it will take long to release. At least i hope so

I have no doubt that it will be great! I wont need to demo , I will just purchase it.

Re: ACT Amp Profiler
I hope they get the ACT guitar profiles to where I can save them as complete presets rather than losing them when I change presets, that will be a big improvement. Yes Lain, I was talking about Bias, I look at all amp sims like most everyone else on this forum. They all have some good qualities to pick up. Amp modeling has improved because of amp sim programs, by amp modeling I mean hardware, Vypyr etc. because they are using some of the same techniques. Revalver 4 is just plain deadly, the amps are so good, the price is typical Peavey, affordable.Lain wrote:Assuming you are talking about Bias, clifton. Re: ACT Amp Profiler
It's been more than two months now since the last post in this thread.
Any news on progress or a release date?
In january it sounded like it would be a matter of a month or two till release, now we're closer to half a year.
Legal issues with the Kemper guys perhaps?

Re: ACT Amp Profiler
So, what exactly do you mean by releasing "something SHORTLY"
That was over 3 weeks ago, and before you chip in Cristofe you already have the beta to try, the rest of us mere mortals rely on Peavey delivering, and shortly to me means a week or two .
To be honest I could live without the Profiler as there is obviously some major flaws in it if it is still not released "in some form".

Re: ACT Amp Profiler
We have indeed a beta, which works very well so, there are no major flaws . Still, we are talking about a very complex module, which needs to work well in the many possible situations our users would want to use it. That is no small task.stevesilk51 wrote:So, what exactly do you mean by releasing "something SHORTLY"
