Gen 1 librarian DL
Gen 1 librarian DL
Hello, I'm new here. After a lot of web scouring I have not been able to find the librarian SW that was released for gen 1 Vypyrs (I have the 75 watt). The references I've seen give it horrible reviews (like alpha lvls. of buggy-ness). While that may be the case I'm curious to try as I never saw the release(s) advertised as my amp was bought used. Just wondering if anyone has insight as to where one might procure these software iterations. Thanks in advance. Cheers, K.
Re: Gen 1 librarian DL
Hi, and welcome.
I thought the Librarian software used to be on this forum somewhere, in one of the Stickies, but looking at them now, I can't see it.
I wonder if the admins have removed any downloads?
I do have the Librarian, but when I try to attach it here, the forum gives me errors, even if I zip it.
And TBH, you really don't want to be using it because it's simply not fit for purpose and it'll trash your presets.
The biggest problem with it is that if you have carefully crafted your presets on your amp and read them into the Librarian, that's fine.
BUT, if you try and Write them all back to the amp, then you simply will NOT get A-1 going to A-1, A-2 going to A-2, etc.
So YOUR presets will get replaced by something totally different. All your hard work gone.
[ Actually, "Single" write might work for you, depending on which preset you're writing to, but it's complicated for me to describe what will or won't work. Writing "All" will have you in tears. ]

It looks like @Tony_Lopez is working on an alternative and seems to be getting close.
Meanwhile, I'm currently looking at fixing up the original Peavey Librarian software (not easy without source code).
So if you can hold on a little bit longer, one of us might have something for you.

Re: Gen 1 librarian DL
kklapka, terrier,
Looks like Peavey disabled file attachments in general.
I do have the Librarian files, I'll see if I can upload them later today and post links.
It looks like the original Librarian was written in Delphi/Pascal.
It's single executable/.exe file
I asked Peavey years ago to please release the source code but they were unwilling at the time. With the new Vypyr Gen releases and new preset management software for them I am sure they were hoping for things to develop further there.
At this point I'll jump back over to my 2024 post and try tp post updates daily or a few times a week on my progress. Overall my new solution works for me but I need to get a front end on it and get people to test it.
Updates coming soon and am happy to see people using these amps, they are amazing.

Hi there,
Attempting to drop in a link and access via my google drive.
You should see Librarian folder which has a 1.00 and 1.04 version.

You can check the Peavey website for any downloads or legacy software sections. Sometimes manufacturers keep older software available for downloadpapa's scooperia

Consider reaching out to Peavey’s customer support directly. They might be able to provide you with the software or direct you to where you can find it. temple run 2
