VYPYR VIP 1 almost no sound from speaker

I just got this little VIP 1 used and it worked great for about a day, just messing around with settings and trying to figure it out. Then I switched it to the bass option and turned up the master volume, because the higher strings wouldn't register at all with the gate, and it just went silent.

I tried turning it off and on, I did a factory reset, tried different cords and guitars. With headphones plugged in there's still sound, but almost nothing through the speaker. If you crank the master volume you can still hear a very slight bit of sound coming out but only at full volume. I thought it was trashed but then, briefly, the sound worked again. Until i switched to one of the other amp presets (forgetting they had the post gain at max by default) and the loud noise that came out shut the speaker off again.

I can see the wires plugged into the speaker seem tight but I haven't taken it apart to see the other end. Has anyone experienced this or would anyone have any ideas as to what I might need to do? Thanks in advance.

And as I'm typing this the speaker started working again, but I'm sure it will eventually cut out.

I wanted to follow up on this, it cut out again but came back after I maxed out the master volume. I'll see if that consistently "fixes" the issue next time it happens.

Another update, cranking the volumes did not bring the sound back this time. But another weird note is that this time the sound didn't just cut out as before, it was a slow fade. It started getting quieter and went to it's lowest volume after about ten seconds. Still, if you raise the volume you can hear sound from the speaker but it's almost inaudible.
