Good afternoon,
Would anyone in the forum have any experience in opening up a Peavey PVM 520i microphone?
The microphone went from working great one day to completely dead the next.
It wasn't dropped so I'm thinking that it may be a wiring issue by the yoke assembly.
Just not sure the best way to get to it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards, dadroadie

Re: Peavey PVM 520I repair
Check the connection at the XLR plug first before trying to open up the capsule. There is a very small screw that holds the XLR plug in place. Loosen that screw (it has reverse threads, so turning left makes it go in, which is what you will need to to to make it slide out the bottom). See if one (or more) of the wires broke inside there or if the plug itself is damaged.

I’ve never had one of these apart yet. I haven’t had any issues with them.
Let us know how it goes. If you can’t get it working again, let me know. I’ll check my inventory of those and see if I have a spare. I think I have a few, so I may have one extra.
