Showfex 240V transformer?

Post by ESE » Sun Feb 19, 2023 6:26 am

Hi all,

This is a question that hopefully someone with historic knowledge will be able to answer!

I've imported a Showfex many years ago from the U.S. To my knowledge, it was only ever released in the U.S.
I also couldn't replace the transformer, because it's a really unique and space-efficient thing (see picture below).
As a result, I've so far always used a bulky 120>240V power adapter, which is somewhat cumbersome.

Then I recently noticed that in the manual, Appendix C: Specifications, it says:

Power Supply requirements
U.S.: 120 VAC, 60 Hz, 25 watts
Export: 220/240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 25 watts

So, I'm curious:
  • Has the Showfex as 240V export edition ever existed?
  • Have 240V transformers been produced (perhaps for other models such as the Deltafex)?
  • If so, is there a way I get my hands on one of those transformers to mod my Showfex?
Thanks so much for any help you can give!
