I was just curious if these 2 units are the same. I had just picked up a used EDI, and have been interested the the MSDI found in the JSX cab and the 6505MH head.
Thanks

Re: MSDI vs EDI
Is your EDI an active (powered) DI box? A DI is usually designed to get an instrument's signal to a mixer or recording equipment, often over a significant distance, while preserving the instrument's original signal. Some DI's have additional features.
The Peavey MSDI (Microphone Simulated Direct Interface) circuit is designed to get the sound of a mic'd amplifier's speaker to a mixer or recording equipment, without having to actually mic a speaker.
Peavey used to make a MSDI box you could use with any amplifier where it could be inserted between the power amp output and the speaker.
