Peavey pvi 8500

I have a Pvi 8500 thats sounds like speakers are blown. I took it to the music shop and they set it up with speakers and they said, "thats what happens to digital. One day it just is no longer useable. Can this be fixed? Can I take it apart and spray dioxit everywhere? Or is it something to do with the board electronically?
