Hope there are some XR1212 experts out there! ( Perhaps Jim H will be along!).
I have acquired an XR 1212 powered mixer, with a number (not all) of channels which are completely dead. No input, no signal or clipping led. I have checked the usual - dry joints ribbon cables etc
The power supply is fully functional.
Ideally I'd like to investigate the faulty channels by injecting a suitable audio signal and scoping it through the various stages. To do this I'll need to pull out the channel board to get to the component side.
Can I power the board with +15v and -15v from a bench power supply, in order to carry out my diagnostic work?
Any pointers/guidance would be much appreciated!

I don't see why not.
No need to remove the board completely to test the signal path. There is adequate information in the service manual to be able to trace the path on the back of the board but it will have to be removed for repair work.
Check the obvious first ... sliders and any insert sockets.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I have the schematics, but one thing I don't have is the service manual.
Is it readily obtainable at all?
Thanks
