Thanks in advance.
I was given a PV8 mixer - not USB that had no power supply so I got one from eB*y. 16 V DC with plenty of amperage. Because it didn't have the output voltage on it I tested it first with a meter and it was fine.
The mixer when powered up immediately went into "all clip lights on" mode for all channels including the L/R master clips. Faders all at 0 and channel gains all at zero. There was no noise in the phones but I admit I didn't try a mike. It didn't seem prudent.
Has anybody seen this before. What did you do about it? It's cost me all of $8 so far. It would be nice if it was a simple fix that I might be able to do myself.

The non USB PV8 takes an AC power supply, not a DC supply.

Duh! The eB*y dealer has this listed as a unit that would work with specifically with a bunch of Peavey units -
I'll put the meter on it and see what the output looks like. If it's actually a DC output do you suppose I friend the mixer? Thanks.Peavey 16 VAC-16.5 Volt AC

You said it was DC...in the Ebay description is says 16.5 Volt AC.
It looks like he copied that text from us...so it should work.
If it is actually an AC supply and you're getting red lights, then you have an internal power supply issue. Probably just a blown regulator or something.
DC shouldn't hurt the mixer.

Sure enough, according to the meter, there is 16 V DC coming out of the adapter. No AC voltage. The good news is that, because I'm a super nice guy and ruggedly handsome I get free return shipping and will get a refund for the adapter.
Thanks for catching this error on my part (and theirs). Now it's on to finding the right unit.

Re: All Red Lights on at Power-up on a PV8
I got another power supply that is definitely 16 VAC. Sure enough this PV8 works great. The pre-amps sound great with all my mikes. Thanks for the responses and catching my screw-up. Much like most Peavey gear this thing is built like a tank. It was well worth $25 for the power supply.
