1st Generation FX Mixer-Latest Firmware

Post by Roger Crimm » Wed Sep 21, 2016 2:14 pm

Since we get a lot or requests for this, I will post it here. The zip file has the latest update file and instructions.

Be sure to check your kernal version first! See below:

•To install firmware versions 1.04 and above you MUST have Kernel Version 1.33 installed into your FX mixer. If you have a lower Kernel version YOU WILL DAMAGE THE MIXER BY INSTALLING NEW FIRMWARE. You'll end up with a blue screen of death and your mixer will need to be returned to the factory for repair. Local service stations will not be able to restore it.

•To check your Kernel version. hold down the left data encoder knob while turning on the AC power. The "Install New Software" screen will appear and the current Kernel Version will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Just a couple of quick notes about the files:

1. This is still a beta release, but it has been well vetted and hasn't been known to cause any problems.

2. The files and instructions included here are for updating the firmware with a PC, over USB. The file can still be used for updating via a thumb-drive, but the instructions were not written for that.

3. The main advantage of the beta code is to improve compatibility with newer thumb-drives. However, "newer" when this was written was 2010, so compatibility is still limited.
