Escort 3000 output only 80 watts/channel?

Post by elroyjetsn » Tue Aug 06, 2013 7:50 pm

Have 2 questions:

Is the power output 80 watts per channel as stated in the owner's guide, or 150 watts per channel as rated by the cut sheet and various online stores? The output for the 5000 and the 6000 agree with both, but not the Escort 3000.

Also, at one store I saw an Escort 3000 II. Is there a newer version out now?

Thanks,
Wayne

I was looking at an Escort 3000 system at our local shop and it is very different from those I've seen on Craigslist and Ebay and some reviews. The shop had the one with built in effects and USB(version 2) and I am interested in that over the the other (version 1?) with sliders and no effects or USB.

So my question is, is the type 1 (without USB) 80 watts/channel and the type 2 (with USB) 150 watts/channel? Or is it the other way around? Or are they both 80/channel or both 150/channel?

80/channel or 150/channel make a big difference in my decision if I should wait and save more for the Escort 5000 or 6000 instead.

Thanks,
Wayne

The Escort 3000 is 150 watts a channel. Not sure where the other info is coming from, but the 3000 has always been 300 watts total. In fact, that was the only performance change between the old "Escort" and the "Escort 3000."

Don't believe me. I'm just guessing.

They are both the same amount of power. The 80 Watts is the RMS figure, the 150 a peak power rating.
