XR-700 amp

Post by branded » Mon Oct 03, 2011 11:40 am

Hello from the sandhills,
I have a problem with a XR-700 amp. The monitors won't come on about
ever two or three months. the Led lights flash but no sound. Then it comes
on and works OK for the rest of the day. I have had it apart two times to
check and found nothing. Can any one help? Thanks, Ken

Hello, I see that this posting is from a while ago, but I have a similar problem with my main outputs. Sometimes I won't get any sound out of my main (led lights still flashing) while other times I will get a very weak signal. The last time that I had the weak signal I cranked the volume up a bit to see what would happen and the speakers let a loud bang and everything went back to normal. This is the only time this solution changed anything.

Any suggestions on what could be causing this and how it can be fixed would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Alex

Is the XR700 an older console-type powered mixer from about the 1980s, having a wooden case and handles?

Sounds like a bad connection.
I would open it up and look for Plugs and Ribbon Cables.
Unplug and replug all of them a coupla times to reestablish better connections.
