This has to be due to bad isolation around the USB controller in the mixer..
When playing and recording through the same usb controller it is going to get hot generate a lot of emi compared to when it is just used for playing.
I'm having to work around this by routing a control room output to a separate sound card on the PC and recording off that input device.
I'm pretty sure peavey is responsible here. I don't understand how these mixers pass QC with this issue. You can't do all your tests in a clean room you have to test in real world environments and typical user scenarios.
