XR 2012 Powered mixer (no sound)

Post by Woyz » Sat Oct 07, 2023 2:12 am

A friend of mine gave me his old rx 2012 mixer and I can't get any sound out the main or monitor outs. I've pushed the the system mode, still nothing. Anybody have any idea what the problem might be? Would sure appreciate some help. Thanks (headphone Jack works perfect)

Any indications on the level display (green / yellow / red LEDS)? Knowing that will help partition between the preamp / mixer and power amp.

Yes, all lights work respectively and the headphones work as well. Could it be as simple as a fuse? Thank you for your response

Fighting a similar problem, had sound from the left & right main and monitor outputs, but nothing from the powered speak on connectors on the back. I have traced the signal internally into the CODIC IC on the DSP board, nothing after that. Have called Peavey technical support twice and emailed them, no response. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get Peavey’s attention?

As the headphone works perfectly I suspect the power amplifier section.
I would then remove the case and monitor the power supplies, signal inputs and amplifier voltages. Then I will be able to decide where the fault lies and repair the power amplifier or indeed find the mixers fault if the power amplifiers are OK.
