reverb in In Ear Monitors

Post by Rakesh » Mon Jul 26, 2021 9:22 am

Hello

Recently I have connected a wireless IEM to PV14 mixer. My IEM is LD System ME100G

I cannot seem to get any reverb for vocals in IEM. How can this be done

Thanks

What output of the mixer are you sending to this unit?

I don't see a way offhand. Someone else might. But the chart for the mixer shows both the digital FX returns and the FX returns from external all connect right to the main left and right busses. There is no connection for the FX into the monitors

Looks like you can return the effects to the Aux which is the monitor send? You can't return it to just you but every monitor in the system. Page
12 in the Manual.

RETURN TO AUX CONTROL KNOB
This control determines the level of the internal digital effects processor being sent to the Aux output. One possible use is to put reverb in the
headphones of a vocalist, to give them a confidence boost for recording, without putting any reverb on the actual recorded track. Or in a live
situation, the same can be done by feeding a delay or reverb to the monitors.

Thanks Doug

The mixer you are referring to is PV14AT ( auto tune ). My mixer is PV14 USB

My mixer does not have a RETURN TO AUX KNOB. I have attached two images

Is there another way

It's a really long post to explain why to add (or not) efx to monitors. It would help me to know why you are wanting reverb in the monitors? It's usually not recommended, but there are always exceptions.

Thanks Johnny

I only want to add a little reverb to my vocals in the IEM. Currently when I sing using the IEM my voice comes out too dry. So I do not feel comfortable. Not sure whether other singers use the reverb or not in IEM.

I have only recently started using the IEM.

This mixer does not have the ability to route the internal effects to the monitor send. If you want reverb on the monitor send you would have to get an external effects unit to get you the reverb you need.
Pro Audio 16FX2, PV6USB, 2xQF131, QF215, 2x SP2, 2xSP118, 2xPV1600, PV3800, 4xKPC15MP
Bass - Grind 6 NTB 410TVX, 115BVX, MAX700, 210TVX, MiniMega, VB-2, VB-3, VB-MA

Cannot use an external reverb unit as the PV14 mixer does not have FX or AUX return

No. You cannot patch in external effects that way. It has no effects loop. You can feed an external reverb unit with the MON send to the reverb unit input, then send that units output to the in ear monitor transmitter. That eill acheive what you are looking to do.
