Hi all! I have bought a Peavey Classic 50 50 Power Amp and the seller has advised me I might have to change the pentiometer for the Presense on Ch.1....does anyone know what type I need as in the schematics what I found was code VR-201... I will try cleaning the original one first with switch cleaner when the amp arrives! Many Thanks! :D

I don't think VR-201 is the part number for a potentiometer (frequently called a "pot"), but most likely it means Variable Resistor, location 201 on the circuit diagram. Once you get the amp, you should be able to see a part number printed or embossed on the pot itself.

The pot will have its value printed somewhere on it. 20K B = linear. 220K A = Log. etc. Getting a match might be a problem- I got all mine from e-Bay

You have a Classic 50 - 50, not Classic 50.
Totally different beasts.
You will find cleaning and lubricating with contact lube will fix it.
The pot is a 10kB but A or B makes little difference as they will both work without issues.
