IPR2 5000 enough?

Post by MuddyMike » Wed Jul 08, 2020 6:03 am

I have a pair of SP6s rated at 2000w program 4000w peak 4 ohms each cab. Will the IPR2 5000 be enough at 4 ohms per ch.

Peavey IPR2 5000 Power Amplifier Specifications:

1,510W RMS x 2 @ 4 ohms
is this under powered?

A general rule of thumb to avoid damaging speakers is to use and amp that is 75-80% of the rated program power of your speaker. Do the math and it looks like you're about right with the IPR5000.
