IPR Amps

Post by Peaveypro » Fri Jan 17, 2020 7:08 pm

Ive finally replaced my last CS series amps with the IPR, My Death Rack that used to bully guys up and down the lifts now is officially LIGHT, I think it went from about 600 lbs to 75 lbs...Have they discontinued the DSP amps ?? I sure would like to see Peavey build 4 of these into One Chassis...IPR 3000, the amps work great, and sound great so its a win win...on my new knees and back.

I dont think Ill sell my 4080s as I still use them on Outdoor events with added Subs, but the rest are gone. Ive got about 5 years on my Sub amps, and hoping I get another 5 and more as dependability is a plus. Peaveys amps could take a whoopin and just keep cranking the power out.

Do you think the IPR amps will hold up as well as the CS series have?

Only time will tell. I own 10 IPR2 7500 amplifiers and, they have been trouble free for nearly 6 years. In retrospect, the oldest CS 800 amplifier I own is 43 years of age in which, the only component I had to replace was the fan.

Peavey would have never discontinued their complete series of power amplifiers with the exception of the IPR2 Series if the IPR2 were very unreliable.

Best Regards,
Elliot

I'm trying to hook up my 2 pair of peavey to my amp. I have a regular stereo hook up to a power amp. But my other peavey speaker won't come on any suggestions

I have 5 IPR-1600 amps for about as long as they have made them and never a problem, even in 100 degree heat in direct sunlight. Have even dropped a couple of them and still working fine.

After the 1600's were discontinued I got 3 IPR2-2000 amps, 2 of those had to be repaired within 6 months. Now I'm about to send in another for repair. When they work they work Great.

Found a large load of IPR-1600 and IPR-3000 amps at Toms Sound in Birmingham AL. Went and bought 2 of them today.
While I was there I found an older model FX32 mixer for $400 with Case , Took that Home with me too.
tomssound.com still has plenty of amps for
$200 IPR-1600
$300 IPR-3000
refurbished

Got a call today that, it was repaired, and the cost including shipping is $85
Too Cool ... Fast and Cheap . . .

Im not a huge fan of the IPR 2000, have had several and all failed, for light duty loads they are fine, but dont work well under loads that require constant hard work....every other IPR Ive had has been as faithful as an old dog, driven hard, great power, and durability, My 3000, 5000, AND 7500 are all about 6 years old, The 2000 is just made for Studio monitors or some use like that, not a bad amp but not a LIVE amp either...I had a pair installed in a Home Theatre and they seemed to work pretty decent, indoors, clean environs etc...
