xr8600D and Powered Speakers
xr8600D and Powered Speakers
Is it possible to use powered speakers with this mixer? I have a pair of Thump12 powered loudspeakers which I would like to use for main speakers. Based on what I'm seeing in the manual, it does not appear that you can send a non-amplified signal to the Main Main output. Any assistance or recommendations on who these speakers could be used with this equipment would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you can send the main output signal to your powered speakers. There is a ¼" output jack labeled "Main" on the front panel. Hook in a TRS cable there and send the main mix to an "auxiliary amp/speaker system" which, in your case, is your powered speakers. If they require an XLR cable to connect, you will need a TRS/XLRM adapter cable to make the match on both ends. I have several of these for the Auxiliary outputs on my mixer, and they are about 18" long and cost about $15-$20. Add a regular mic cable to the adapter and you can send a balanced signal as far as you need to.

Hey guys how do you hook 2 powered speakers, in my case JBL Eon 615, if there is only 1 "main" output on the front of the XR8600?
Thanks for your time...

There is usually a through/out jack to daisy chain them together, but I'm not familiar with your equipment.
I hope this helps...
