Ipr 3000 hi pass or full range

Post by philmguitar » Tue Dec 06, 2022 4:56 am

Hope someone can help.
I use a Pv2600 900w to run ul215 4ohms subs I then use the internal cross over into a IPR2 3000 1200w which will run 2 pairs of ul15 both 4ohms giving me 2ohms (roughly). Should the IPR2 be set to hi pass or full range?

Are you saying you connect a PV2600 to a sub input, then that sub's internal crossover output to the input of an IPR2 3000 amplifier? Surely not, as this would probably start a fire in your amp.

Hi
No, I mean mixer outputs go into pv2600 input (crossover is turned on in the Pv2600). The subs speakers are connected to the Pv2600 outputs. Then the highouts on the pv2600 plug into the inputs of the ipr 3000. Ipr 3000 outputs are connected to the tops.

Ok, that sounds better. In that case, set the IPR2 3000 to full-range, since you already have a crossover active from the PV2600. A signal passing through two crossovers will cause excessive phase shift if the crossover points are at or near the same frequency.
