Loudspeaker VT Series Model 212 Classic

Post by Kalle Muren » Tue Feb 04, 2025 7:21 am

Hi all,
I’ve inherited a Peavey VT Model 212 Classic, 50 Watt. (Probably from 1979 ?)
My question is how do I tell the impedance of the loudspeakers? The are connected in parallel so if my school knowledge is right it means that you should split that in two to get the total impedance. But to know where to put the loudspeaker cable in to the amplifier outlet (4 or 8 ohm) I need to know the impedance of each speaker. Does anyone have an idea ?

If it still has the 2 eight ohm speakers in it connect them in parallel (a 4 ohm load) and plug into the Main Speaker jack. That's how it was intended to be used. But if you like it better when plugged into the Aux jack it's okay too.
The more I learn the more I realize how much I don't know.
