Hello,
I recently bought a pair of used Peavey 6t Impulse speakers to use with my 5.1 home theater system. I already own a pair of Peavey III Impulse speakers that sound great. When I hooked the 6t speakers up to serve as my back speakers, the sound was very faint. I switched the dial up to 35W, made sure the individual volumes of the speakers were up on my amp, and the sound was still faint. Do these speakers need some kind of additional power? I'm hopeful the answer is simple - forgive my ignorance but I'm still a newbie in some respects with audio. Thanks for your help!
Peavey 6t impulse speakers not loud enough
Re: Peavey 6t impulse speakers not loud enough
The "t" signifies that these have a 70v transformer built in. That's probably what is sucking your volume. If you open up the speaker you can bypass the transformer and they'll be just like the regular Impulse 6's.
