Powered 18 sub
I have a sub that turns on then cuts right back off any one ever experienced this?
Re: Powered 18 sub
If its not still covered by warranty I'd remove the front grill. Remove the screws that hold the woofer to the box and unhook the 2 wires that feed the woofer. Be sure to remember which color went where. Next make sure the 2 wires are not touching themselves or any people in the room and turn the box on and see if it does the same thing. This may give you an idea if the woofer is blown in such a way as the amp see's a short and protects itself by shutting off when it see's the short. If the amp powers on and stays on then the woofer may need replacing. If the amp still shuts off then there is many things that may have gone wrong and you may be better off to have it brought in for service.

The above might or might not work as the fault might not sho itself unless it's under load.

He turns it on and it shuts right back off. Doesn't sound like any load is needed here.
