Escort 5000 USB Input error

Post by dhays7779 » Thu Jun 27, 2019 9:40 am

Having a hard time directly linking an iPhone that does not have a headphone jack into my Escort. I use the USB connection into the phone and always get "USB Input error". Any smartphone that I have that has a headphone jack - obviously no problem there. Anyone have any ideas, without having to tell the iPhone user that they have to get/use the dongle to switch to 3.5mm? Is there a firmware update that I need or something?

The USB functionality on the Escort 5000 is designed to playback audio files from a USB thumb drive, not connect to a smartphone. To play audio from a smartphone you'll have to get the headphone adapter and connect to the 3.5mm or RCA connectors.
