i purchased peavey 212 column speaker @8ohms
i want to use as a extension cab / small bedroom quarter stack .. i think the speakers were meant for vocal use ...
is this something i can run a head thru ...
head unit 100/50/25 watt selectable
speakers - i believe are rated 400 watts @8 ohms

Dookie, I right-clicked on his little image icons and selected "Load image in new tab" and the pics appeared in the new tab. Not our usual procedure.
Anyway, the head showed as a Peavey Supreme--looks like a guitar head to me. I am not sure what he intends to do with the 212s.

If your head has an 8 ohm out and your cabs are 8 ohm your fine to run any cab you choose. I can't imagine you would ever get any kid or dirt or ( Brown ) sound out of them as they have tiny cones . but at bedroom level you aren't gonna get much anyways

I remember those. I don't think 400 watts is realistic. I'm thinking more in the 100 watts rms, 200 watts program, 400 watts peak. I'd set your guitar amp under 100 watts... If the speaker is fine I see nothing wrong with using it for a guitar speaker. If it sounds ok and does what you need. Those used to come with eminence speakers (woofers) and a piezo tweeter or 3 ? It is what it is.
