Honestly, that depends on condition. If you look on eBay you'll see them going for upwards of $1,000 or more in good condition. I bought one a few years back for less than $500. I had set it aside thinking it needed a good set up, and it turned out the neck was bad up about the 11th fret, and two guys I had check it told me it was wasn't fixable. I parted it out and so far I've made about $800 on eBay, and I still have a couple of pieces to sell. These are pretty desirable now, and spare parts are hard to come by.

While you'll see plenty eBay listings for $1,000 upwards ; sold prices tell a very different story.
In the last 3 months the highest price reached was $885 , lowest $508. Most average between $650 and $700.
Yes, you will see $1000 T-40s appear in "sold" searches , those are "shill bids" ; same basses reappear week after week ad nauseam
