I have An older passive bass with written on the back of the head: handcrafted Indonesia DNIB0183. I read on the list here that a BXP was made in Vietnam? Anyone An idea how old she is and from where?

'BXP' stands for Bass Export, i.e East Asian builds of models with US versions. Countries varied.

My early active bolt on neck PJ Grind was built in Korea but my passive neck through model was built by Inyen Vina in Vietnam. My old tiger eye Millennium Ac was Indonesian, my Violet quilt model came from China. My Zodiac EXP was a Chinese build but both Zodiac BXP owned by my friend Chris are Korean builds.

The Vietnam contract didn't last too long and I'm pretty sure only involved the neck through Grind models. Those moved on to China then Indonesia.
