Hey all...
I'm looking to grab a more "traditional" strat to complement my G&L Comanche and am drawn to the early Peavey's for a variety of reasons. I'm curious if there is a quality discrepancy from the Falcons to the "higher end" Predator Ax. The prices seem to indicate there is. Thx much!

The Falcons are superior.
You would also enjoy the Predator also, it does well with some upgrades.

Falcon all the way
Re: Falcon vs. Predator Ax
While they are fine guitars, the Predators were pricepoint guitars. Most were "crafted in usa" meaning USA neck and import everything else. all assembled in meridian.
Falcons were all USA and as good/better than anything the "other" company made as far as production guitars go.
Most Predators have THE lowest grade tuners made...the trapezoidals. Always a must upgrade so budget for that.
The original falcons had alnico pickups and CTS pots and switches. Later versions had the HCS singlecoils that absolutely rock IMO.
I've had a bunch both falcons and there wasn't a bad one in the bunch

Regular ol' Predators are a great modding platform. You can get them ridiculously cheap and create something stellar. Great necks.
