Peavey Pickups Designed by Bill Lawrence?

Post by tonepoet » Sun Jun 12, 2022 5:21 pm

So, I've read that Bill Lawrence designed pickups for Peavey but it didn't mention which ones or even a timeline of when he did so. Does anyone know what he may have designed? T-60 pickups, Super Ferrites, P-12's?

As to the pickups he made under his name that he made in Tennessee, Pennsylvania and southern California, I have always like an L-500R and L500L in a 2 humbucker guitar and an L500C in the bridge of an S-S-H guitar.

Have fun,

Good luck

AFAIK, Peavey made pickups in house until the "Crafted in USA" stuff like the Predator and Reactor. Those were import.

Dont know if BL ever had any input. The T60 "The Circuit" was designed by Red Roades.

The Super Ferrites (T60, etc) were wound in house as Hartley and Chip had their own way of winding pickups. Instead of a spinning bobbin that wire was fed onto, they spun the coil of wire around a stationary bobbin to reduce scatter winding and make a more rigid structure
