Got a late 80's Tracer body for free and I was curious if any other Peavey necks will work for it? It's a Tracer model with the 4 hole PowerBend style tremolo, so the only affordable Tracer necks I see all have locking nuts, not looking for that.
Also, the guitar doesn't have the tremolo, does a Fender 6 hole retrofit easily? Or any other suggestions?
And one more thing, what were the original pickups in these guitars? Thanks to all for any help!

Re: Questions about late 80's Tracer
Greetings guitarjesus!
Can you post a photo of the body?
Do you know if you need the 24.75" scale 24 fret version , or a 25.5" 22 fret version? I can't tell you about neck interchangeability until I know the scale. If you have the 24 and 3/4 in scale guitar, there aren't many easy options. If you have the 25 and a half inch scale, there are a few options that you could explore from the other models of that era.
The pickups are a Schaller distortion class humbucker(@16k) and Peavey high output single coil neck (@8-10k)
you can make a 6 hole fender bridge work but you'll have to plug the holes and drill new ones. I would suggest sticking with the Power Bend if you can..
I have loads of Tracer parts, I just need to know what model you have.

Re: Questions about late 80's Tracer
So I'm figuring out posting pics, but I have two bodies. One is a single humbucker with a powerbend tremolo route, and the neck pocket is the standard rectangular Fender style bolting. The other is a power bend route, with a humbucker, and single coil in the neck. The neck pocket is slanted at the top, the only necks I've seen like this were the 24 fret ones, so I'm guessing it's the 24 fret 24.75 scale.jimPV wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 3:10 pmGreetings guitarjesus!

I didn't realize that they made 2 separate scales for this guitar.

For whatever reason Jim, I can't reply to your message. So for the Tracer 1, I have just the body. For the Tracer II 1989, the body came with controls (minus knobs), input jack, switch, and cavity covers. So I need pickups (I'll go aftermarket), the power bend bridge, knobs, neck, neck plate and screws, and tuners.jimPV wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2019 7:25 pmhttps://www.axebition.com/blog/peavey-tracer-series

I'm not the biggest fan of 24 frets and 24.75" scale, so I'm not sure if I'll tackle this before I hit up the Tracer 1. 24 fret necks seem to be a bit more expensive than the 22 fret versions.
