Limited series identification

Post by stevecomputer » Fri Jul 06, 2012 3:00 pm

Greetings to all from a rainy Ireland. I've been offered a Peavey Limited Series USA and I would like to ask all you nice people some questions about it if I may, as I have little experience with Peavey products. It's a beautiful guitar and in great condition and very attractive to look at and most importantly, to play. However, I cannot find another like it on the web, as it's in H/S/H format, all original so it's not a VT, ST, HB, or STD as far as I can tell. Also, I am a big fan of Earvana nuts and can't find what the nut measurements for the Limited series are. I can't get a photo of it yet as I'm playing hard to get! I should get it for 350 euro if I don't show too much interest. All help is appreciated and many thanks for the opportunity to ask for assistance.

I have a couple USA Limited HB's . I have never seen one in H/S/H configuration. Matter of fact the only H/S/H Peavey's I have seen were Detonators and EXP HP Specials. Is the serial # embeded in the headstock or on a sticker? Have any pics?

This is the rule: if it has 3-3 tuners, it is USA, otherwise (6 in line) it is Korean, - UNLESS it has a pickguard. That makes it USA again. But the latter ones are pretty rare, i have seen them only two or three times on Ebay.

I remember there is a thread somewhere on this forum ....

Ah, found it:

I have a Peavey guitar that I think is an LTD model. I tried to find information about it on the Peavey website but didn't get anywhere. The serial number is 91028964. Does anyone know if the serial number is a match for the LTD series. It has a maple top and HSS pickup configuration. I am interested in finding out which wood is under the maple cap and if there is someplace, I can purchase a replacement tremolo arm.
