Re: The FIRENZA Thread!
I'm interested in Firenza (actually always was). Right now I'm thinking about the AX. My question is about the neck. The closest guitar that I played to Firenza was a Wolfgang. It was a plain white so after research I thought it might have been that solid basswood body model. I liked the neck but I'm curious if the Firenza's were sharing the neck with Wolfgang or not. Thanks guys.

Re: The FIRENZA Thread!
Hi Tomas! I don't think the Firenza necks feel as flat as the Wolfgang necks, but the radius is supposedly the same. Subtle differences like that are hard to explain. Try and play one if you can.
At this point, Firenzas are getting rarer, so if you find one for a decent price, whether it's an AX, JX, or Soapbar model, I say just grab it. They're all nice guitars, although people being people, most people will have a preference.
I started out liking the Soapbar the best, then I discovered the AX... For a while I was captivated by the JX as well, hence the pictures at the beginning of this thread.
I still like all of them, and for less than the cost of a single USA Fender or Gibson guitar, you can own all three Firenzi...

Hi GennyFan and thanks. I didn't love that Wolfgang neck as much. I really loved the one on my JF-1 though. How about your three F's and body wood? And also how do they sound through your 210 Delta Blues? You should make some video if you haven't yet

Re: The FIRENZA Thread!
I had a question about a firenze jx I picked up a while back. The bridge pickup had been replaced and it looks like it was put back in before the guy graded it to guitar center. Had to do some quick repair work. Not to mention it looks like the guy too a screw driver to the pickup pocket. I made a pick guard to try and cover that up. My question is is there a way to determine if it's the original pickup? I always loved the sound of these guitars ever since my dad worked at Peavey. I have an ax coming and the p90 model. Just want to make sure I have the original electronics.
Re: The FIRENZA Thread!
I recently purchased a sky blue Firenza JX from Guitar Center and I'm in love with it. For $225, this has to be the best deal I've ever had on a musical instrument! It sounds amazing and the body is resonant and light. I find I kind of like the flat neck and it fits my hands perfectly. I was so impressed that I probably overpaid for a mint condition soapbar model... just waiting for it to come in.
I'm definitely a Firenza convert. My USA Stratocaster Deluxe and my Les Paul Special are going to be moving on to new homes now.

Re: The FIRENZA Thread!
Got my Firenza a month ago, I had to resolder the neck pickup which was soldered upside down and now the pickups don't hum when I use both of them and I had my friend cover the backside and the area under the pickups with graphite, because, in Ukraine, all our amps have no grounding whatsoever and the guitar hummed a lot when I didn't play it.
Can somebody tell me whether the pickups I have in my Firenza are original or not? I tried googling for Fat 90 VB but I didn't find any information about the pickups the guitar has.

Re: The FIRENZA Thread!
Hi Guys!
New member here, I grabbed this a couple of months ago with a hardcase and trem arm even! Love this thing, every time I pick it up I'm impressed by the quality and sounds I can get from it. Especially for the price! I'm looking to swap out the knobs and add a switch tip since it was missing one, does anybody know what sizes I need going off stewmac? I'm pretty sure I need the CRL/Grigsby size for the switch tip but when I was measuring the pot shaft nothing seemed to match up.
cheers
And yes, that's the original plastic on the control cover!

Looking great. Enjoy the honeymoon stage. The guys on here are pretty knowledgeable I have no clue about the sizes of the pots or switch.

Lovely that mahogany body over that burst. And those P90's and a hardtail is my favorite configuration

The pickups that you have do not appear original to me. I took mine out and then put them in a different guitar. That was not the designation on them.

Re: The FIRENZA Thread!
Yep, definitely not original.
IIRC the pickpups are marked, or have a sticker perhaps, that says "KMS"
