Other heads run through KB100

Post by TNFredKB100 » Tue Aug 23, 2022 6:53 pm

I have a small tube amp that I would like to play through the speaker on my KB100 sometimes. What would be the best way to do this and be able to easily switch back & forth?

Your KB100 should have a Power Amp In jack, probably on the back of the chassis.

Does your small tube amp have a Preamp Out, or Effects Send/Out, or Headphones Out jack?

The easiest way would be to run a cable from 1 of those 3 jacks on your tube amp, into the Power Amp In jack on your KB100.

If your tube amp does not have some line level output, it will be more challenging.

Mine is an old Gretsch (Valco) tube amp. It has no outputs. I did have the speaker wires connected to an external speaker cabinet for years & that’s what I’m going for now.

Do not connect the speaker output of a tube amp into the input of another amp. You will need a load box with a line-level output to make this type of connection.
