max 100 bass amp footswitch?

Post by meershadow » Mon Mar 13, 2023 10:28 am

Hello,
I just got the max 100 bass amp and am loving it. Question I have is: the manual states that the footswitch can control either overdrive or mute/tuner.
when I plug in a single footswitch it activates the mute. I'd like it to toggle the overdrive instead.
How can I accomplish this? Do I need a dual footswitch to do this, and if so, how do I wire a footswitch that will work?
thank you,
Hans

The manual states
(18) FOOTSWITCH JACK
The optional footswitch (part number 03022910) plugs into this jack. The footswitch controls OVERDRIVE and MUTE.
That's a dual footswitch on a TRS plug. You could use an insert cable in this socket, and depending on which of the TS plugs you plug into the single footswitch (assuming that it has a socket rather than a fixed cable) it will control either overdrive or mute.
