Hello All,
Hoping to pick some craniums......
Recently acquired a VB2. Everything lights up, ALL Tubes etc.... It has NO Sound, No hiss from the speaks. Tuner out has signal, the DI (pre) has signal. DI (post) No Signal, Effects Loop No Signal
Any pointers would be sweet.
VB2 No Sound
Re: VB2 No Sound
As I suggested in the other thread, start with high voltage. In this case in the preamp, it seems. You got B+ on the plates of the two preamp tubes?
Also, plug the guitar - or test signal of some sort - into the FX return jack. ANy sound that way?

Re: VB2 No Sound
Thx E,
I wasnt sure if the you were refering to the Classic 400 or VB2. I figured it best to create a proper post for the VB2.
Thank you, RB

Re: VB2 No Sound
It means take voltage readings on the plate pins of the tube sockets. If this is foreign to you, perhaps you should stay out of it. The voltages in a tube amp can KILL YOU.
Re: VB2 No Sound
Dropped her off at the Spa for a diagnosis and tune up.
i did pull the chasis and found a soldered fuse F2 was bad, looked like it had failed before.
PS I know how to discharge the amp man, out here ya just grab onto the caps and shit and grab the dude next to you for a ground. Its intense man
