My peavy max 115 (300 watts) stopped working. When I turn on the amp, nothing comes up. I cannot use the tuner as well. Can anyone please tell me what the problem is and also guide me with the solution?

Max 115 not working
Re: Max 115 not working
Blown main fuse? And work from there
Re: Max 115 not working
Thanks, Enzo. Do you know where I can find the main fuse? It isn't next to the power supply unit. And I was not able to open the case. It looks like it is made up of a single wooden box. I cannot access the PCB inside.

Re: Max 115 not working
Oh I am certain the amp chassis comes out of the wooden cab.
Re: Max 115 not working
Thanks. Do you know where I can find the service manual?
Re: Max 115 not working
Service manual is just the schematics and maybe a parts list. I only have the file for the older smaller unit. Not the 300 watt. You can drop a email to customer service at the factory and they might help.
I see fout screws into the top holding teh chassis in place. The two handle screws might also be involved. You probably have to remove teh grille to gain access.

Re: Max 115 not working
I am attempting to repair a Max 115 that belongs to my son’s high school jazz band, son is the bassist. I am an electrician and have trouble shot it down to the two large inductor looking components on the power amplifier board. Using headphones the amp is working, tuner working, eq adjustments, etc all working. Problem is signal not being amplified to drive the speaker. Two of the larger cylindrical components appear to be burnt and cracked and the metal “cans” that slide over them (heat sinks?) have come off and rattle around in the cabinet. One of the can shaped items is cracked into two pieces. I can solder in two new components or just replace the entire power amp board (probably safer) but there is no way to find the appropriate Peavey parts online. Does anyone know where I can get the parts to repair this amp? Finding this kind of ridiculous, I can find parts to fix BMW’s, refrigerators, guitars, and just about anything else online. Can’t find Peavey parts.

Can you be more specific about removing the grille?Enzo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 26, 2021 4:22 pmService manual is just the schematics and maybe a parts list. I only have the file for the older smaller unit. Not the 300 watt. You can drop a email to customer service at the factory and they might help.
