Newbie Question on Peavy sub hook up?

Hey all, I'm not super familiar with setups like this. I'm not in a band or anything years ago I as gifted an old Yamaha 100II Mixer with (2) Yamaha Speakers. The speakers have since blew out and I got myself (2) Peavy SP5G speakers. I also just picked up a Peavy 410TX. My question is how to correctly hook this up to get the most out of everything. I have currently been using an aux cord from Channel 1 to my laptop so I can adjust the EQ settings. And then I have both speakers tied to say speaker (1) output and the 410 to Speaker (2) output. I have a feeling there is a way to get more out of this setup I'm just not positive. Any help is appreciated and any questions if I left something out let me know. I mainly use this system in my garage or outside in the summer( I really get a workout moving these beasts around) I just want to be able to get everything dialed in the best I can I have a loud heavy metal problem!!!
