Mark III Standard/Bass/Centurion/Musician

Post by Fatzo_T » Fri May 12, 2023 9:14 am

Hi there

Can someone explain to me the difference between these amps :?: :?:

Image

_ Bass for Bass :lol:
_ Standard --> guitar ?
_ Musician --> keyboard ?
_ Centurion --> everything ? :lol:

I can buy a Centurion online and I would like to be sure I can use it with my bass guitar (I tried the Mark III Bass Head from a friend and I love it).

They all have two channels with pre and post gain, so they are intended to be used with distortion. They differ in equalisation possibilities and power. Individual EQ allows you to work with several instruments/channels while global EQ allows you to best compensate for speaker/room coloring.

Parametric EQ allows you to adapt to either bass/guitar, graphic EQ allows you a fine-grained neutral sound, biamping allows you to work with separate bass and horn cabinet.

I see nothing wrong with using the Centurion for bass, given a suitable cabinet.
