Hey everyone. Been spending a lot of time in recent months trying to track one of these amplifiers down. I realize that they're exceptionally rare to find and low production volume. I'm grateful to own a VB-2 and a VB-3, but I see myself GASing for this amp to complete my collection. I've become more of a Peavey collector, and really appreciate wholeheartedly the amount of ingenuity and technology advancement in all of these amplifiers.
I didn't see any threads about this amplifier on here figured I would start one. If anyone has this amplifier they are looking to sell I would be highly interested.
In the meantime I would love to have a conversation with people who have experience with it. What do you think about it? Sound? Features?
Having that much tube power in 37 lb with the wood case, 22 lb for just the amplifier itself is very impressive. It's too bad that it did not get more reception including the VB-3 too. What I find very interesting is other amp manufacturers have not come out with a similar light weight tube amplifier in the years since these amplifiers came out.
In any event would love to hear other people's thoughts and hope to own one someday.
Cheers!

Re: Peavey VB-MA: Anybody have one?
Well, it has taken years of wanting, and the last 8 months of ridiculously serious hardcore hunting outside normal sales channels, but I scored a BRAND NEW NOS VB-MA. Came with power cord, foot switch, and FS cable. Did I pay a mortgage payment to buy this amp? That and then some! So worth it!
I'll post more about it in the days to come, but man I'm so happy to finally have my collection all complete!

Wow. Great selection. I have the VB2 and love it. I always thought about the VB3 but had a hard time justifying it as I am a guitar player.
So interesting to see the controls are actually different on the VB3 and VB-MA. I had always thought they were the same amp with just a different color.
So can you give a run down of the VB3 vs the VB-MA?

I'll do one better. Here is a complete history and compare with DI sound samples.studiodtk5 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 4:05 amWow. Great selection. I have the VB2 and love it. I always thought about the VB3 but had a hard time justifying it as I am a guitar player.

Nice videos. The VB series amps were great. A shame they are gone.
