Max 110 Bass Amp
Where on my Peavey Max 110 bass amp can I validate how many watts my amp is?

As far as I know there are two versions of the MAX110, a 20 watt and a 100 watt.
Typically on the rear next to the power cord it will say something like 120v 33watts or 50watts. That is how much power it USES, not how much it puts out. As far as I can tell, the low power model has knobs on the front and a circular power switch. The 100 watt version seems to have the knobs on the top.

Yes, it is a 20 watt amp. Where it says "20W RMS 4 OHMS" by the power plug on the back that means its average power available is 20 watts into a 4 Ohm load (speaker). This is a simplification of what is going on, but the Watts RMS is the commonly used manner of referring to an amps power. Posting the photos helps immensely! (Looks like it's in great shape, too!)

This "average power" is expressed by the Root Mean Square (RMS) of a sine, that's where the RMS comes from.

A lot of this information relates to the home and automobile audio industries. Home audio systems (ESPECIALLY the cheap ones) are notorious for exaggerating the amount of actual useful power they put out. Automobile audio systems pretty much all exist in a fantasy universe. In these cases, RMS power is an attempt to make a useful comparison.
Power from the music instrument amplifier industry as expressed in RMS terms is how much power you can really make use of for extended periods of time.

So, the "20W RMS 4 OHMS" not only tells you that you have a 20 watt amp, but that you have a 4 Ohm speaker too. Enjoy it!
