How to set up a Bandit Solo series 50W from 82
Hi all. I’ve just bought a Bandit Solo series 50W from 82. Thanks for helping med find the manual
I’ve fiddled around with but it’s har to understand how all controls works together with each other. Guess there are zillions of combinations and I will hopefully get a hang of it eventually. But just to get me started, could any kind person take a picture of their control settings for a moderate disted sound for rythm playing (think Summer of 69, Can’t get enough of your love with Bad C etc). I very rarely plays lead. If so I use a tube screamer. And then also for a very clear sound (think Mrs Robinson, Rock’n me with Steve M). If I need a little spice to it I,ll use a small amount of overdrive on the tube screamer. I understand that this a million dollars question with zillions of answers, but if I only could get a hint it will help me much. Please send me some photos. Don’t be shy

I had an '82 Bandit years ago, and only remember that the post and pre gain controls worked much differently than my Bandit 65.Kalle Muren wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 6:19 amHi all. I think you may need the foot switch to access the clean channel, like a 65 does, but I'm not certain.
Sometimes, I would plug a dummy 1/4" mono plug into the 65's FTSW jack, which would close the sleeve and ring in the amp,
which activated the clean channel. I do remember the 65 was in the Lead channel only, by default, without a FTSW or the dummy plug,
but I can't remember if the 50 was the same way.
If you have the foot switch, you're all set, just start whirling knobs around

Lars, try Pre Gain 5-6, Low 6, Mid 5-6, High 7 for a slightly distorted rhythm sound. For a clean sound, reduce Pre Gain to 3, Low 5-6, High 6-7, Presence 6-7. Use Tube Screamer to add overdrive when needed! papa's games

I have found that experimenting with the mid and the presence settings can make a big difference.
The more I learn the more I realize how much I don't know.

The foot switch is indeed crucial for accessing the clean channel, similar to how it works on the Bandit 65. Using a dummy plug to activate the clean channel is a clever workaround.
