Classic 50 effects loop retrofit - build report

Post by KaptinKangaru » Sat Jan 11, 2025 11:09 pm

I wanted to share with the community that I have resurrected the retrofit Classic 50 FX loop. Peavey used to sell a kit with a breakout board to add an effects loop to a first gen Classic 50 (1991). I inquired about it years ago, only to find that it had been discontinued and was sold out. I gave up on it until recently, as I'd gotten fairly proficient with a desktop CNC and pedal building. I decided to go hunting on the web, and I found the instructions that came with the kit, which included a schematic. I drew up a new PCB, and milled it on my CNC. Using Peavey's instructions, i successfully added an effects loop to my 34 year old amp, eliminating my one and only complaint I've ever had with it since purchasing in 97. I'm happy to share my files with anyone interested in the same modification.
