Need Help Choosing a New Amp for Versatile Sound

Post by tomgilbert » Sun Dec 29, 2024 10:13 pm

I’m looking to upgrade my guitar amplifier and could really use your advice! I play a mix of genres including blues, rock, and a bit of metal, and I need an amp that can handle all these styles.
What I’m Looking For:
Preferably in the 20-50 watt range for home and small gigs. Tone Options: I’d love an amp with great clean and overdrive channels.
Portability: Lightweight and easy to carry would be ideal.
Current Setup:
Guitar: I play a Fender Stratocaster.
Pedals: I use a Boss DS-1 Distortion and a TC Electronic Hall of Fame Reverb.

Teal Bandit. Or any Bandit. Teals my favourite though.

I second the Bandits. The Express amps are good too but quite often they are priced as high or higher than Bandits. You might check out the Vypyr's also.

The old Pacers are great amps but old enough that it might require some servicing before being reliable. And there is the Specials. Lot of power you may not need but quite playable at lower volumes.
The more I learn the more I realize how much I don't know.
