Classic VT series automix

Post by archiemax » Tue Jun 06, 2023 7:54 pm

Recently refurbished a circa-1982 50-watt Classic and it turned out real good. Wired up the footswitch and it does what it's supposed to, i.e. turns the 'verb & phase off and on, combines the Bright & Normal, and switches between the two. Here's the problem: Using the front panel jacks, bright channel and "normal" channel sound great, but when I use the "automix" input, the "normal" setting comes out louder than when I use the Normal jack, and it's got a noticeable overdriven sound. What's going on here?

Sounds like it is doing what it is supposed to do. Have you read the owners manual? It explains the automix options.
The more I learn the more I realize how much I don't know.
