Peavey Envoy 110 1997

hello

does anyone have any mods for this amp?

eg change and or upgrade ic/ caps/ resistors etc

purpose is to make this sound a little more boutique

after a more keith richard stevie ray vaughn sound

This is tough, because the Transtube amps were designed to give a sound that was contemporary, ie they sounded like the music the kids were into at the time. It’s a fairly “modern” sounding amp. You have crystal clear clean, and modern gain tones.

I’m not saying it’s impossible to mod it to sound more like a vintage American style amp, but nobody has an already-designed set of modifications that transform the voicing of the amp. Best I can tell you off the top of my head is to increase the value of the coupling caps and the emitter bypass caps in the lead circuit, to let more lows through the distortion stages, then turn down the gain and maybe boost the amp with a Tubescreamer for the SRV sounds.

Really, I think you’d be better served by researching Fender inspired amp-in-a-box pedals, and using one through the clean channel of your Envoy. Whatever you end up doing, I wish you luck!
