Hello guys first post here!
I have a 6505+ on the bench, it's blowing the main fuse upon flipping the power switch (Standby not turned on).
Opened it up and found the Thermistor was split in half.
Pulled the thermistor, rand jumper in it's place temporarily, removed the power tubes and it's still doing it.
When I disconnect the B+ quick connect from the board the amp does not trip, so there is an issue in the B+ circuit I believe.
I've been reading the possibility that the flyback diodes on the output tubes could be bad (Part SR-2873). I also read that this part is not available and that 3 zener diodes in series per side will be a good replacement.
Just wanted to see if anyone had any insight on this, I greatly appreciate your help!
Thank you

Re: 6505+ blowing main fuse
If those diodes are faulty, (very unusual) they are available. Mouser stock them; https://www.mouser.co.uk/c/?q=R3000-T
Type number is R3000 (3kV 3000V 200mA)
They are high voltage diodes.
DO NOT use zener diodes!
